Get ready, Kate's! The time has come to don your red dresses and join us at Margate's 'The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever’ (TMWHDE) at The Oval Bandstand in Cliftonville on Sunday 27th July 2025, from 12pm to 5pm. This lively event promises an afternoon filled with dancing, singing, and absolute fun for everyone. It's a celebration of connection, community, and coming together with both friends and strangers to partake in a truly unique global movement recreating the iconic dance from the 'Wuthering Heights' music video—all for great local causes! In addition to the charity fund-raising dance, we will curate an afternoon filled with Kate Bush themed entertainment, including singers, DJ performances, dance tutorial with Debs from Midlife Mover , dance competitions, and more! Organised by GRASS Cliftonville CIC, this event proudly supports Oasis, a local charity dedicated to alleviating the impact of domestic violence, and Mama to Mama, an organisation providing essential pre-loved items to vulnerable pregnant women, caregivers, and children under 5 living in poverty. Our aim is ambitious: to raise over £2000 and gather at least 200 enthusiastic dancers, embodying the spirit of Kate, to support these incredible causes. All proceeds from the event go directly to these charities, ensuring your participation makes an immediate difference. GRASS Cliftonville CIC acknowledges the inspiration drawn from the theatrical concept "The Ultimate Kate Bush Experience" by British theatrical group Shambush and Samantha Wareing, who, with permission, created The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever. Since 2016, over 10,000 'Cathy’s' in more than 70 cities worldwide have united in mass ‘wuthering' events, sometimes drawing crowds of over 2000 participants at a time! Secure your tickets now for TMWHDE and help us reach our goal of £2000 and 200 dancing Cathy’s! Spread the word among your friends, family, and colleagues to join us for a fantastic afternoon of 'wuthering' while supporting these amazing organisations. Let's make this event a ‘wutherly’ spectacular success together! See you there, Kate's! This 1 hour walking tour along Margate's seafront into the Old Town, covers the town's history from 45 BC, through it's history as a holiday getaway, then as a haven for artists, lovers (and the occasional rockstar) in more recent times.... to the spot it is today. Bowie, Marx, Doherty, Hawkwind, Peter Sellers, JMW Turner, Tracy Emin, Del Boy and even James Bond...all feature! A fun tour whether you are a local or a visitor - we start at The Shakespeare pub, near Margate rail station, then take a gentle stroll through the spots along the seafront that feature in these historical tales... to end in Margate's old town (beside the Margate Museum for those who want to sample more of the town's history). And those who stay on afterwards will have the option to taste some of the local wines, ales (and cheese!) together in the old town wine bar - Little Swift. Its a fun and witty talk, that should give a whirlwind tour of Margate's colourful history. Tell your friends - and hopefully see you there! Information Source: eventbrite

** FOR HOLIDAY SPRINGS RESIDENTS ONLY ** Our Mobile Exemptions & Education Team will be on hand to help homeowners file for the Homestead Exemption, which can reduce property taxes and save money. We will also guide homeowners through other exemptions they may qualify for, such as Widow/Widower, Additional Low-Income Senior, Disability, and Veterans exemptions. For a full list of available exemptions, visit https://bcpa.net/homestead.asp . In addition, we’ll assist homeowners in signing up for our FREE Owner Alert Service to help protect against deed fraud. Criminals are filing fraudulent deeds and taking ownership of properties without the owner's knowledge. This free service will notify property owners, via text or email, if any changes are made to their deed. For more information about Owner Alert, visit https://web.bcpa.net/owneralert . Our specialists will also be available at the event to answer any questions homeowners may have about property assessments.
