There’s been a noticeable shift lately. I’ve been hearing it more and more—friends, coworkers, folks BTC—clients are rescheduling, canceling, or stretching out their appointments. If you’re feeling it too, let me say this loud and clear: you’re not alone . Losing appointments sucks, especially for vivid specialists. One canceled transformation? That can wreck your whole week. But here’s the good news: this is our moment to level up —if we’re willing to listen and pivot. Client behavior is always evolving, whether we like it or not. And when the tides change, we don’t sink—we surf. Now’s the time to lean into vivid color that works with what clients are asking for: bold, beautiful color that’s built to last and easy to maintain . It’s a win-win. Clients get to save money and rock stunning hair. We get to keep our books full, our lights on, and our loyal clients feeling like the badass beauties they are. --- In this class you will learn consultation and mindset tips, two lived-in blonding methods, best practices for choosing vivid color palettes for your client, and how to style & take after photos to market this service. Don't set up dates too quickly It's normal to chat and have some back and forth before deciding if a date is in the cards. If the person wants to meet you immediately that is a RED FLAG. 2. Meet up in a public place the first time It's a wise decision to choose a busy public location for your first date. Meet at a pub, coffee shop, restaurant, and/or busy park. This allows a secure setting for both of you. 3. Always arrange your own transportation for the initial date Always meet your date in a public place. Never, ever let them pick you up or drop you off on your first few dates. Even if they offer to pick you up or drop you off, say "no thanks" until you trust them! Remember the old saying stranger DANGER. 4. Tell someone you trust that you have a date Never go on a date/meet-up without telling someone. This should always be your no. 1 safety rule when meeting people for the first time. Let a friend or family member know that they should expect to hear from you at a certain time. You can also let them know where you're going on the date. It’s also a smart idea to have a ‘safe word’ or ‘safe phrase’, to use, just in case you need to make a quick exit. 5. Think before exchanging numbers Do not forget that you are under no need to share phone numbers if you feel uncomfortable. It’s OK to schedule dates and converse only through a safe app until you feel ready to give out your phone number. Always take your time when to disclose contact information since your privacy is crucial. 6. ALWAYS Trust your instincts If you sense any discomfort or uneasy vibes while conversing, planning a date in person, don't hesitate to leave immediately and exit the situation. Your well-being always comes first, and it's perfectly fine to step away if something doesn't feel right. Let your friend or family member know. Information Source: Crazy4Events | eventbrite
Shark Arm Case | Justice and Police Museum

Shark Arm Case | Justice and Police Museum

The Rocks
Arts Theater
The Shark Arm Case Copyright on photo belongs to owner. A Million to One ChanceANZAC DAY, 1935. A shark exhibited at the Coogee Aquarium vomits up a human arm, bearing a distinctive tattoo. Investigators identify the arm as belonging to Jim Smith, a small-time crook turned police informant, who has been missing for three weeks. What’s more, the arm was severed with an axe, rather than being bitten off! Suspicion falls on the forger Patrick Brady, named by Smith in connection with the sinking of the luxury yacht, The Pathfinder, and subsequent attempts to collect the insurance. But finding Brady, let alone the truth, means taking a deep dive into Sydney’s criminal underworld. Secrets of the DeepSmuggling, insurance fraud and now murder. Crimes that seem to point towards an unlikely pair of Sydney boat-builders. Reginald Holmes and Albert Stannard are respectable businessmen with loving families – even if Smith did work for Holmes at the time of the Pathfinder incident, how could they possibly be involved in such sordid goings-on? In a city where cocaine is illegal and booze restricted, there is money to be made – a lot of money. Their alibis are watertight but rumour has it that Holmes cherishes some bad habits. A holiday house in Cronulla may hold the answer, but so may the murky waters of Gunnamatta Bay. And where, after all, is Patrick Brady? Detective or Devil?Incorruptible, unflappable, Detective Sergeant Frank Matthews has cracked some of Sydney’s toughest cases. His commitment to justice is absolute, even if his methods are not always the most refined. Before him now is an opportunity that could seal his reputation and take him to the very top of the force - if he finds Smith’s murderer and makes them talk, it will expose a net of corruption entangling the entire waterfront. Lies, guns and money, and the criminal code of silence stand in his way, but Matthews will let nothing stop him. No matter what lengths he has to go to, or who gets crushed underfoot. Wives on the WarpathGladys Smith wants to know what really happened to her husband. Grace Brady wants to keep her husband out of gaol. Burned by the scandal surrounding The Pathfinder, Inie Holmes just wants it all to go away. It may be a man’s world, but that doesn’t mean they’ll sit quietly while police and journalists tear up their lives. Besides, you know what they say – you don’t just marry the man, you marry the business! Even the wife of an aquarium owner might find herself doing things she never imagined she’d do. With so many unanswered questions and so much at stake, only one thing is sure – there’s blood in the water and sharks, of all kinds, are circling. Sydney harbour is in for one hell of a show! Join us with eXp of Northern California Broker Ryan Rosas Live In Person. Key Points: Compliance with Escrow and Real Estate Laws : Real estate brokers must ensure escrow instructions are lawful and transparent. The DFPI and DRE have identified improper practices where brokers direct escrow agents to use Commission Disbursement Authorizations (CDA) to pay personal or business expenses (e.g., credit card bills, rent, or tuition) or unlicensed entities/individuals, violating California’s Escrow Law and Real Estate Law. Proper Disbursement Protocols : Escrow funds, including commissions, must only be disbursed based on written instructions from the transaction principals (buyer and seller). Brokers are not principals and cannot direct payments to third parties for personal expenses or unlicensed parties via CDAs, as this compromises transaction integrity and may violate federal RESPA rules. Broker-Controlled Escrows : DRE-licensed brokers handling in-house escrows are exempt from Escrow Law but must adhere to strict trust account rules, ensuring funds are disbursed only per the principals’ instructions. Regulatory Oversight and Consequences : The DFPI and DRE will investigate violations, including unlawful referral fee arrangements, to ensure transparency and fairness. Non-compliance may lead to administrative actions, such as penalties, license suspension, or revocation. Best Practices for Agents : Ensure all escrow instructions are clear, written, and authorized by principals. Avoid directing escrow agents to make payments for personal or business expenses. Verify that any recipient of commission funds is licensed if required. Maintain accurate records to demonstrate compliance during audits. Conclusion: Real estate agents must adhere to DFPI and DRE regulations to maintain transparency and protect all parties in escrow transactions. Understanding and following proper escrow instruction protocols is critical to avoiding legal and regulatory issues. Information Source: Made 4 More | eventbrite

Welcome to the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! Six awkward spelling champions learn that winning (and losing) isn't everything. Come join us at the Homestake Peak School Auditorium while these competitors candidly disclose hilarious and touching stories from their home lives and these tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake. Six spellers enter; one speller leaves a champion! At least the losers get a juice box... Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee has charmed audiences across the country with its effortless wit and humor. Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny and touching book by Rachel Sheinkin and a truly fresh and vibrant score by William Finn, this bee is one unforgettable experience.
