Innovation Fundamentals Masterclass: PPIE | Axis Conference Centre

Innovation Fundamentals Masterclass – PPIE
Tuesday 30 September
5 - 8pm
In-person event
Axis Centre, University of Southampton Science Park, SO16 7NP
Free to attend (£5 deposit refunded on attendance)
Patient and Public Engagement (PPIE) is a fundamental element of health tech development, design and deployment and an important element for grant funding applications.
Understanding the impact and potential benefit of your innovation on patients and the public is vital to aiding adoption and ensuring long-term sustainable use of your product.
You may end up with something no-one wants, needs or can use without understanding:
the unmet need
how an innovation needs to be designed to be able to be used
how to engage with those who will use, or benefit from, your innovation.
Your grant applications are also very unlikely to be successful without a strong PPIE programme.
To ensure this doesn’t happen for your innovation join us for an evening masterclass which will:
provide understanding on why PPIE is important from the beginning
help you develop a PPIE approach for your innovation
inform you on how to engage with groups and organisations to provide PPIE insights
explore how to develop a PPIE programme into grant applications to improve your chance of success.
We are excited to announce that Bournemouth University’s PIER partnership and several VCSOs local to Dorset and Hampshire will be joining us, providing insights and networking opportunities. We will also be joined by an innovator who will demonstrate how they completed PPIE and how vital it has been towards their success.
We will also be sharing how we, at Health Innovation Wessex, can support you with other work packages in your grant applications.
This masterclass will be particularly beneficial for:
health and medtech companies of all sizes
innovators in NHS organisations – including health/medtech industries and academia
clinical entrepreneurs/innovators.
There will also be some time for networking over evening refreshments.
A £5 deposit will be needed to secure your spot for this event, refunded on attendance.
