Join Basil Hall for the Collagraph Workshop titled "A Fresh Look at Collographs" on May 25 and 26, 2024, at The Makers Studio in East Gosford. In this workshop, Basil will share techniques for creating stunning prints using collagraph plates. Collagraphs utilize inexpensive materials such as textured card, plywood, masonite, old etching plates, and perspex to build up and carve out designs. Discover various ways to create painterly effects, lines, tones, and textures for your finished print. Basil will also discuss intaglio and relief printing techniques, including a la poupée inking, viscosity over-rolls, and multi-plate color printing. Participants will have the opportunity to proof and print their images in full color. Collagraph prints are known for their crisp and dynamic appearances, rivaling traditional etching plates. Come prepared to unleash your imagination and embark on two days of cutting, painting, peeling, varnishing, sanding, collaging, inking, and rolling up. Basil Hall, an experienced artist and collaborating printer, will guide you through the process. Don't miss this incredible opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional. Reserve your spot now for this inspiring workshop. Please note that all necessary materials and light refreshments will be provided.
