Experience the enchantment of transferring hand-painted designs onto textiles through the use of heat press in the Sublimation Textiles Printing Workshop. Led by renowned artist Becky Vincer, this captivating workshop allows participants to explore sublimation printing techniques on textiles. Engage in a hands-on experience where you can experiment with various methods, including dried flowers, layering, stencils, masking, and collage, to create stunning patterns and designs on synthetic fabrics. Utilizing disperse dyes on paper, we will print onto fabrics acquired from sustainable sources such as scrap stores, dead stock, and charity shops. During the workshop, gain valuable insights into the process and create fabric samples and testers before working on larger pieces. The resulting sublimation prints can be used for a variety of craft projects, such as patchwork, quilting, sewing, fashion, and book covers. All materials will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own light-colored synthetic clothing or fabrics such as polyester, acrylic, rayon, or nylon. Note that mixed fabrics like 50% cotton and 50% polyester may result in a duller print. The workshop will be held at the Chaos Cards Tabletop Gaming Centre in Folkestone on April 10, 2024. Secure your spot for £35 and immerse yourself in the artistry of sublimation textiles printing.
