18th & 25th July 2025 - Fridays from 09:30-12:30
INTRODUCTION TO POINTILLISM - Drawing and Painting
A two week art course (6 hours)
This is a fun workshop divided in two sessions, where we will be exploring how to draw and paint with dots. We will be taking inspiration from George Pierre Seurat and Paul Sugnac, both French post-impressionists.
As well as mixing colours by layering them one over another, we will be mixing colours optically.
To find more about this style of drawing and painting, please join our introductory class this February.
We will learn, experiment, be creative and have fun.
Please note we run all of course based on minimum numbers.
What materials do I need ?
Please bring gel pens, acrylic markers and / or paints, a good quality paper or canvas board, and brushes suitable for acrylics. Water is used with acrylics as they are water based colours, so a few old plastic bottles or larger plastic cups will be useful to keep brushes in, for water and to mix paints.
Supplies can be purchased from a variety of places, depending on budget and preference, for example Goslings Art Shop in Sudbury, The Works, Poundland or online from Amazon for example.
