Part of the STAR Summer Camps! August 4 - August 8, 2025 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Registration: $200 Come join the circus! This summer we will explore a variety of circus skills. This camp is designed for students who have previously completed a beginner aerial arts camp at THe STAR or have high level experience in other movements (ie level 2+ gymnasts, competitive cheer, ect.) Your kiddo will have a chance to fly as an aerialist, juggle as a clown and hula hoop as a hand balancer. Instructors Justine and Julie are experienced circus educators dedicated to creating a fun, safe and accessible learning environment. Campers will take well know fairy tales; rewrite and perform them in a fun and creative way. Each day students will transform a different fairy tale. The last day we will perform our favorite creation! Campers will be immersed in the Star Wars universe, where they can learn about the Jedi code, practice lightsaber skills, participate in physical challenges, and develop their "Force" abilities through activities that promote mindfulness, teamwork, and problem-solving, all while embracing the values of the Jedi Order like courage, compassion, and wisdom. Part of the STAR Summer Camps! August 4 - August 8, 2025 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Registration: $200 Campers can code the VEX 123 robot using touch to control movements and sounds. They learn sequences, logic and problem solving. Campers progress to using coding Cards and the VEX Coder to control the 123 robot. They learn real programming away from tablets and computers. Campers will use VEXcode with Drag & Drop blocks to code the 123 robot. Why all children must learn to code: Across the world, the conversion of information into a digital format – also called “digitalization” – has increased productivity in the public and private sectors. As a result, virtually every country in the world is working towards a digital economy. As this new economy evolves, special skills like computer programming are needed. This is like a language of numbers, known as code, which allows people to write instructions that are executed by computers. The goal is to create something: from a web page, to an image, to a piece of software! Aside from giving them a head start for the future of work, compared to other forms of numeric sciences, learning code can enhance children’s creativity.
