Save the date! We're happy to announce our next Women in Tech Hampshire event: The Importance of Women in AI! AI is evolving at an unprecedented pace, transforming industries and reshaping the way we work, communicate, and make decisions. What once felt like futuristic concepts are now part of everyday life. Our expert panel will explore the critical role women play in shaping the future of technology and artificial intelligence. We'll discuss why having more women in tech isn’t just about representation, but it's about driving smarter, more ethical innovation. The conversation will highlight the importance of building diverse tech teams and using inclusive data sets, showing how these elements are essential for creating fairer, more impactful AI solutions. Our Panel Eirini Kateri is a Lead AI Scientist at RocketPhone, where she leads AI initiatives with a focus on computer vision. She founded Zenicam, a startup that developed technology to measure vital signs, pain and stress through video, which was recognised at London Tech Week and featured in Forbes . With a track record spanning academia and industry, she has led cutting-edge projects in AI, signal processing and data analytics. Emma Smethurst is Head of Commercial at Etch with a background in operations, and over a decade in the technology sector. She drives commercial strategy and execution, developing inclusive, high-performing teams built for resilience and growth in fast-changing markets. Emma is passionate about mentoring talent to adapt, evolve and embrace emerging technologies, including AI, to stay ahead of the curve. Fay Sears is Head of Information Security with experience in security, compliance, and privacy across regulated sectors. She specialises in translating business risk into actionable, pragmatic strategies that make security approachable and accessible for all. Fay is passionate about supporting innovation and scaling securely while empowering organisations and individuals to navigate the evolving AI landscape with confidence. Gemma Snell is an Innovation and Industry Programme Manager. She has spent time working with innovators developing AI and understanding the healthcare landscape around that, particularly when considering where the data is coming from, and whether that can be used in ML or LLMs appropriately and for what purpose. This meet-up will be slightly different, as we will be starting the event earlier and providing a BBQ! We are thrilled with how much the community has grown and would love to celebrate that by getting everyone together for a summer social. The ticket price will include a choice of meat or vegetarian options, plus salads and accompaniments. We will be providing selection of Pimms, beers, and soft drinks, also included in the ticket price. Spectrum IT Recruitment has very kindly subsidised part of the catering costs for this event. You are welcome to arrive from 5pm. The food will be served from 5.30pm. There will be a longer networking session before the panel discussion, and the usual networking after, with the option to ask questions throughout. If you would like to submit any questions for the panel, please email Lauren or Amy on WiTH@SpectrumIT.co.uk. Please note the BBQ will be the only food available. If you have any questions with regards to tickets please email WiTH@SpectrumIT.co.uk Please join our LinkedIn Group for any event updates and networking opportunities Women in Tech Hampshire - LinkedIn Information Source: Women in Tech Hampshire | eventbrite
