The heat from the boiler is intense, the whistle pierces through the night, but those in the sleeper carriages settle down in one of life's most romantic enviroments. However, for the fireman on the footplate, rose-tinted dreams makes way for Victorian reality. The fireman shovels more coal into the boiler's firebox. It's hot, demanding work, but the runaway train must never cease. There are some perks however, the fireman flips his red hot shovel, reaches into his bag and take out an egg, cracking it onto the back of the shovel. The heat fried it like a dream. His candelit meal awaited, far from first class. Northern Parasol's Nightshift residency has returned for 2025 and we couldn't be more thrilled to be back at Eagle Inn, without doubt one of the best grassroots venues in the city! We're thrilled to have Cinder join us as our headliners for this one! Industrial, with hints of shoegaze, this quartet tell the stories of the growing up in the North West with hook-driven songwriting. Distortion, ambience with eerie undertones and relatable lyrics, we can't wait for them to play our Nighshift! Making up this line-up are two more new faces. Brickhouse a punchy, punky, grundgey outfit that have been impressing all that see them and Bicycle Thieves, one of the finest up & coming acts in the city. Northern Parasol's Nightshift residency will take place (nearly) every Wednesday at Eagle Inn, showcasing the best emerging talent Manchester & beyond has to offer. Tickets start at just £5. These shows are not to be missed! Up The Movement. ==================================================================== Like all Northern Parasol events, we will be enforcing our Stop The Set policy. The fields sprawl out as far as the eye can see. The sun is setting but the work is far from over. Broken fences need to be tended too, ditches are needing to be dug. But more pressingly, it's harvest season, and some crops remain in the land. Once the light is lost, the work will cease and any hope of appeassing the Lord will be dashed, unless a succesful harvest can be decreed. The sweat drips from the temple and the skin is red in the heat, but nighttime approaches fast, this is no time to rest. Northern Parasol's Nightshift residency has returned for 2025 and we couldn't be more thrilled to be back at Eagle Inn, without doubt one of the best grassroots venues in the city! Your headliners for this one are Serfs . This four-piece began as a lockdown project and has since become a constantly evolving creative force. Creating music to Serfs is a way of creating sonic collages & sketches, with improvisation and exploration as the key ingredient. They are joined by the alt-pop duo Zdenka & the ethereal indie of Rae Charlea. Northern Parasol's Nightshift residency will take place (nearly) every Wednesday at Eagle Inn, showcasing the best emerging talent Manchester & beyond has to offer. Tickets start at just £5.
