Farmer-Miller-Baker Summit | NBCC Moncton Campus
Cultural Experiences
In 2024, the Baking Association of Canada launched Farmer-Miller-Baker in Calgary to bridge the gaps between the farm, the mill, the bakery, students and the consumer. Now, an exciting partnership between the Baking Association, Bakers Journal and Top Crop Manager will expand the conversation starting with the first workshop of 2025 held on Feb. 25 at University of Fraser Valley in Chilliwack, BC.
This unique and intimate event brings together farmers, millers and bakers to showcase innovation, trends, and tradition in a way to breakdown siloes, and create discussion on supply path from soil and seed to consumer, focusing on education, awareness, challenges and opportunities in getting food on Canadian’s tables.
Farmer-Miller-Baker events are a fusion of expertise, sustainability, and stakeholder education that leverages local, sustainably grown grains to meet the growing demand for healthy and affordable food. The event combines farming technique, grain processing, artisanal baking expertise and consumers to share experience, knowledge and provide a space for open discussion with the end goal of elevating Canadian grains to the forefront of the innovation at an international level.
In this industry-first approach, Farmer-Miller-Baker not only supports the vision of value-added products that promote the journey of Canada’s grains but also establish an educational platform where attendees from different parts of the supply chain learn, innovate and troubleshoot from one another, in real time. By merging traditional farming knowledge with advanced grain processing and innovative baking techniques, this event aims to create a ripple effect that inspires, motivates and transforms the entire grain, milling and baking industry – from field to flour, to finished product.
