Big Tall Garden w/ Upper Levels Date: Saturday, August 9th, 2025 Time: 6:30pm Location: Wildeye Brewing, North Vancouver We are very excited to announce a very special “locals” show for 2 legendary North Vancouver bands: The triumphant return of Big Tall Garden with very special guests Upper Levels. Hot off the heels of a mini-tour of the Sunshine Coast with punk legends the Pointed Sticks, Big Tall Garden is a power trio from North Vancouver, BC, Canada that make tight, punchy, melodious riff rock. Bombastic like The Who, with the pomp and pageantry of Queen, they lay down grooves as deep in the pocket as the Meters yet a have fresh quirkiness reminiscent of Vampire Weekend. Inspired by their surroundings in a city with majestic rain forests and snow capped mountains they have developed a sound that is distinctly West Coast. Known for their powerful and spontaneous live show, the band have honed their craft with over twenty years of memorable gigs, tours and festivals winning over a huge underground following. BTG members – Duane Murrin (guitar/lead vocals), Jon Frederiksen (bass/vocals) and Hamish Thomson (drums/vocals) have a special intrinsic connection that has stood the test of time allowing the band to truly push the boundaries of their musical landscapes with raw unfiltered emotion. Heavy, progressive and in the pocket, Upper Levels burst onto the local scene in the late 80’s and quickly gained a cult following with their crushing riffs and boundary pushing, genre defying sound. Upper Levels original members Julian Growcott (guitars), Mark Tompkins (vocals, keyboards), Brendy Marklinger (bass), Jonas Fairley (drums) have a musical chemistry that is palpable and timeless. Get your tickets now, only 75 capacity for this intimate show. Doors at 6:30pm, come early to reconnect with old friends and enjoy some delicious craft beer and yummy pub fare.
