Barbell 201: Stand Strong Workshop—Turlock, CA, is an event that fitness enthusiasts won't want to miss. Led by INSTRUCTOR Mike Sousa, a StrongFirst Certified Instructor, this workshop is designed to take your strength to new heights. The workshop will be held on Saturday, March 9th, from 8:00am to 12:00pm at XX Functional Fitness in Turlock, CA.
During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn and perfect two powerful lifts: the Military Press and the Zercher Squat. These classic lifts are the epitome of old-school strength training. Unlike others, who may teach improper form or sacrifice technique for heavier weights, Sousa focuses on strict and strong execution, reminiscent of the Soviet weightlifters of the 1960s.
The Zercher Squat, in particular, is a game-changer. With its simple technique and minimal strain on the wrists, shoulders, and elbows, it's accessible to everyone. No need for a rack or a spotter, making it perfect for individuals of all fitness levels. Plus, the Zercher Squat has an incredible training effect on the abs, providing an added bonus.
To enhance your strength gains even further, the lifts will be complemented by the "Russian Countdown" cycle. This proven method will help skyrocket your strength and maximize your results.
