Join Print and Matter and True Form Projects for a captivating artist talk series called "Music & Art Speaks Artist Talks" that explores the intersection of music, design, visual arts, and heritage. In collaboration with Print and Matter, True Form Projects will draw inspiration from their impressive record sleeve artwork collection to delve into the world of art, design, and printmaking with the talented Sofia Niazi. To complement the creative workshops, a series of music and design-related talks will be held prior to each workshop. This public program, organized by True Form Projects, is free for all attendees.
On November 18th, from 11am to 12pm, join artist Abeera Kamran, a skilled graphic designer and typographer, for an insightful talk. Abeera, who divides her time between Birmingham, UK, and Karachi, Pakistan, has extensive experience working with musicians on both print and digital design, including album covers and music album websites. Her research focuses on the design and technological challenges associated with publishing Urdu in digital devices. Don't miss the opportunity to learn from this talented artist.
On December 2nd, from 11am to 12pm, immerse yourself in the world of music production with artist Amritpal Singh Kullar, also known as A.S. Kuller. A.S. Kuller is an up-and-coming producer and beatmaker from Birmingham, specializing in Hip-Hop, Bhangra, and Panjabi Folk. His debut EP, "Grove Lane Tales," received recognition and airplay on BBC Radio. He recently collaborated with New York rapper Benny The Butcher on the track "Chemical Reaction," which beautifully pays homage to his Panjabi roots.
Mark your calendars for December 16th, from 11am to 12pm, to join visual artist Faisal Hussain for an inspiring talk. Faisal's diverse portfolio spans public art, film, sculpture, audio, and text art. His work is part of permanent collections in prestigious institutions such as the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery and Urban Nation, Berlin. Currently, Faisal is archiving one of the largest South Asian record collections in the UK, a project that has garnered attention from BBC 6 Music, The Guardian, and Vinyl Factory.
Lastly, on January 6th, 2024, from 11am to 12pm, DJ, producer, vocalist, and visual artist Zoya Ahmed, also known as DJ Rizmi, will take you on a journey into the mystical dimensions of sound, music, and collective movement. Zoya is passionate about dissolving perceived boundaries between people and time, fostering interconnection, love, and balance through music and art.
