I’ll guide you through the essentials step-by-step, so you can take control of your camera and trust yourself in any lighting situation. We’ll explore how to find the best natural light for portraits, whether you’re shooting in open shade, golden hour, or overcast skies. You’ll learn through hands-on experience how to make light feel soft and flattering. You’ll also learn how to tell a story through your photos, using composition, emotion, and intentionality to create portraits that feel deeply personal. Together, we’ll walk through gentle editing techniques that bring your images to life while preserving their authenticity and feeling. Most importantly, you’ll discover how to photograph people with emotion, not perfection, learning how to create space for honesty, connection, and presence in every frame.

I’m 
Kristen Sinclair
 — photographer, artist, and founder of Yukon Inspirations. My photography background includes a diploma in professional photography and years of experience capturing connection and emotion both indoors and outdoors.
I believe soulful portraits come from presence, not perfection. I teach in plain language, with patience, empathy, and a focus on natural  light and connection.
These workshops aren’t about rigid rules — they’re about helping you discover how you see the people in our world, and giving you the tools to capture them beautifully.
