About the Session Wesport's latest “An Evening With” event welcomes Dr. Paul Stewart to Bristol. Paul is a former Liverpool, Manchester City, and Tottenham Hotspur player with appearances for the England Men's National Team. Paul will share his story and his lived experience of abuse growing up in football. Since retiring from the professional game, Paul authored the 2017 book  Damaged  and continues to work tirelessly to promote better safeguarding practices not only in football, but sport as a whole. Wesport's Sport Welfare Officers, Bryher and Matt, are delighted to welcome Paul to Bristol. His story is important, and we hope all attendees will take away some vital learnings for their clubs. This event is part of the South West Club Welfare Festival. This session is open to everyone who works, volunteers, or participates in sports clubs in the South West of England. It is particularly aimed at the following roles: Club Committee MembersCoachesClub Welfare Officers/Club Safeguarding OfficersThis session is FREE and is expected to be booked quickly, so act quickly to avoid disappointment. Wesport would like to extend a big thank you to the Gloucestershire FA for hosting this event. NOTE: During this talk, the speaker will touch on sensitive topics such as child sexual abuse. Please ensure you take care of yourself and you are welcome to step out of the room if needed. About the Sport Welfare Officer Network This session forms a part of the Active Partnership and Sport England's Sport Welfare Officer Network, which is in place to provide local, bespoke welfare and safeguarding advice to sports club volunteers, and to promote best practice across the sector. Funded by Sport England and the National Lottery following the Whyte Review into safeguarding and welfare concerns in British Gymnastics, this session will also explore how you can tap into the free advice and support on offer by Wesport's Sport Welfare Officers, Bryher Freight, and Matt Walker.

Gloucester Cathedral is an ancient and magnificent cathedral in the south of England. It became a pilgrimage place as early as 1300 years ago. It buried King Edward II of England. The Gothic architecture of this church is very beautiful. It is very spacious. There are many different uses of space. There are three floors to visit. Especially the corridor outside the church is very elegant. In 2002 and 2008, it was used as the location of the film &quot;Harry &amp; Potter&quot; twice, and it is worth visiting.
