Reid will share the extraordinary legacy of these iconic figures, who played a crucial role in the civil rights movement. Medgar Evers, the field secretary for the Mississippi branch of the NAACP, and his wife Myrlie worked tirelessly to fight for basic rights for Black Americans. Tragically, Medgar Evers was assassinated by the Klan on June 12, 1963, but Myrlie carried on their legacy and became a leader in her own right. This groundbreaking account by Reid delves into the on-the-ground work that went into achieving equality. Attendees can choose between individual tickets for $35, which include a copy of the book "Medgar & Myrlie," or package tickets for $42, which admit two and also include a copy of the book. The event will be followed by a book signing. Tickets go on sale on January 5, 2024, at 9:00 am, and seating will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

When we first left Phoenix, we saw columnar cacti on both sides of the road. As the altitude increased, the cacti and other low shrubs disappeared, replaced by tall pine forests, and finally the barren plateau with Danxia landform characteristics. It was amazing!

I am a little embarrassed to wear a sweater and trousers.

This zoo is beautiful! It&#39;s the first zoo I&#39;ve been to where the animals looked happy. You have a nice view from every angle. The underwater sea lion exhibit is a must see! It&#39;s free!
