Situated on the coast, just about a 10-minute drive from the city center, the campground is well equipped with basic washrooms and barbecues provided. It is recommended to check-in a little early to avoid being crowded and not being able to choose a beautiful spot! I like to sit under the shade of a tree and enjoy the breeze. I can also see the super beautiful starry sky at night😚! If you are interested in playing in the water, there are SUP, canoe and other rental spots near the shore area.
Stop 2 | Oyster Digging Experience
You can dig oysters with your own hands every day when the tide goes out near the beach. Remember to bring gloves and a small shovel, safe and hygienic. The local oysters are super fresh and sweet, and ready to eat is super ceremonial! (But keep an eye on tide times, and it’s best to ask camp staff about the oyster area and potential safety tips)
💡 Tip: After digging the oysters can be rinsed with seawater on site, but before eating it is best to simply disinfect or wait for a professional to handle. There are several snack bars nearby that can help with the barbecue, and last time I got it done at Sunny Bay Café, the oysters were grilled and added with garlic butter.
Stop 3 | A leisurely beach stroll
Walking south from the camping area is a long beach, which is not too crowded on weekdays, suitable for couples to date/friends to take IG photos. Recommended to go at sunset, the entire coastline is dyed gold, taking pictures super good - some beaches near also hidden small intertidal zone ponds, you can see crabs, sea snails, etc., suitable for bringing children together
🛣️Transportation guide
It is recommended to drive from the city center to the camping area (about 10 minutes), or if you do not want to drive you can also take a local Taxi or book a shuttle Mini Van. The beach area is very easy to walk on, and walking slowly all the way has been very enjoyable.

1. The Sunshine Coast is super sunny during the day, so remember to bring a hat and sunscreen!
2. Bring mosquito repellent and spare sandals on beaches and campsites.
