Join a series of drawing workshops for the curious, aged 50 and over, at the prestigious Manchester Museum. This exciting collaboration with artist and Culture Champion Yvonne Noworyta provides a unique opportunity to explore your inner artist while discovering the remarkable objects within the world-class collection at Manchester Museum. Guided by Noworyta and supported by museum staff and volunteers, participants will receive an overview of the specimens and objects showcased at each session. These workshops offer a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, welcoming individuals of all abilities and experience levels.

The first session, taking place on Tuesday, March 5th, will focus on the Botany Collection. Participants will have the chance to delve into the world of plant models, showcasing intricate internal structures of plants and animals. This initial workshop will introduce the artists' toolkit, covering various techniques such as mark making, tone, shade, texture, scale, and material utilization.

On Tuesday, April 16th, the workshop will shift its attention to the Egyptian Collection, coinciding with the conclusion of the stunning temporary exhibition, Golden Mummies of Egypt. Using small-scale Egyptian artifacts, participants will engage in detailed observational drawing, exploring different presentation approaches through a fun and playful lens.

Finally, on Tuesday, May 7th, the workshop will explore the Zoology Collection, focusing on shells. Participants will have the opportunity to experiment with a wider range of papers and scales, employing drawing and collage techniques to observe the subject more loosely while paying special attention to texture and color.

These workshops, held from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, offer the chance to engage with art, culture, and history in a supportive and inclusive environment. Bookings are available for individual sessions or multiple workshops. Tea and coffee will be provided, and a nearby breakout space is available for relaxation. Visited the cathedral with my partner for an ibiza classical evening. We both thoroughly enjoyed it! The lighting and sound system were amazing.The only faults I had with the place was that the toilets had no lighting around them ,but there were plenty of them though, so I wasn&#39;t queuing for long.
