Two Week Course
Thursday 10th & 17th April
10am - 12pm An exciting opportunity at Creative Bloc for your child to explore and develop their own creative ideas through the medium of clay.
Students will enjoy learning new skills as they discover techniques to hand build wonderful clay projects. In the studio, we will use slab, coil and pinch pot sculpting methods to create unique ceramic masterpieces. These may be practical sculptures for the home (vases, bowls, cups etc) or creative sculptural artworks (inspired by the environment, self portraits, animals, nature & space). Students will be encouraged to explore and realise their own ideas in clay and be involved in all of the ceramic processes. No previous experience is required and all materials and firing costs are included in the course. Our recommended age for this class is 10-14yrs and we also have a class on Thursdays recommended for ages 5-9yrs. This is a guide only and we offer flexibility to attend whichever session a child feels more comfortable in.
After the course, all work will be fired in the studio and ready to collect in approx 2 weeks. -- The tutor: Megan Devlin (she/they) is a Glasgow based artist and ceramic instructor. PVG scheme member with many years experience working with young people. View their work on Instagram.
The Venue: Creative Bloc Glasgow is a new arts collective and creative studio in Glasgow North-West. 814 Garscube Road, G20 7ET.
Public transport:
First busses 60, 60A, 61 - Bluebird X10, X10A and West Coast Motors 17 all stop on Maryhill Road just 2 minutes walk away.
Kelvinbridge and St Georges Cross underground are approx 17mins walk.

We came here on a spontaneous visit one Sunday afternoon in January and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our wee boy loved seeing the &ldquo;old fashioned house&rdquo; and was so well looked after by all the staff, from the cash register to the flat and back out again.We went round twice (with a shift change between visits!) and the insight into one story of no doubt thousands like it in Glasgow was fantastic. Plus our boy thoroughly enjoyed colouring in his wallie dug. A hidden gem that is well worth the wander through Garnethill.

This is simply a dream castle. When I arrived, it was the April holiday, and there were almost no people on the road. Only the ancient buildings stood in the cold air, solemn and heavy, which made people feel awe.

George Square

George Square is located in Glasgow city center and is very conveniently accessible by train or subway. On nice days, you can sunbathe and watch pigeons in the square. It is close to the famous shopping street, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, shoes and socks. There are also many restaurants and eateries to choose from. 
George Square is a must-see attraction. In addition to admiring the architecture of the square;during different festivals, such as Christmas, the square is built into a Christmas Market, becoming a dynamic and happy atmosphere.
