Beginning Lapidary - Cabochon Cutting

Price: $100 including supplies
Learn the art of cutting stone! You will learn how to turn a rough stone/slab into a beautiful shaped and polished cabochon ready to be set in jewelry or for your display case. You will learn the tools used to cut stone, get comfortable working with equipment, and you will cut Brazilian Agate 
(provided)
 into a calibrated oval shape. This class is one of the requirements for the open lapidary studio.

Is this class loud?
Yes. You will be working with loud equipment (earplugs are provided).
Do we have to wear masks?
No, masks are optional. We do have a stage in the stone cutting process where masks are required (provided as well)

You can walk to the Seattle 520 Bridge from Bellevue, as shown in Figure 1. There is also a beautiful park and parking lot here. If you like to walk across the bridge, you can reach Seattle. If you like to take the bus, you can also do so. The bus station is just below the parking lot. There are many buses and the waiting time is not long. It is very convenient.

When traveling, I always want to visit the local universities&mdash;it feels like living a different life for a moment. Especially when it&rsquo;s such a famous public university like the University of Washington. Gary Locke, former Microsoft chairman&hellip; they all graduated from UW. Bill Gates&rsquo; father, a well-known lawyer, once taught at its law school. Bruce Lee also studied here, and it was where he met his wife.

Later, I visited UW&rsquo;s Suzzallo Library&mdash;often referred to as the real-life &ldquo;Harry Potter Library.&rdquo; It grandeur rivals that of the Boston Public Library. The UW School of Medicine also ranks extremely high, consistently alongside Harvard and Stanford. Its programs in clinical medicine and public health are also highly ranked.

Also, the University of Washington&#39;s medical school is highly ranked, consistently on par with Harvard and Stanford. Clinical medicine, public health, and nursing are all excellent. It&#39;s close to Amazon and Microsoft headquarters, and it collaborates closely with tech companies like Google and Meta, so its research funding is high.
