Leben in Lwiw: Zwischen Alltag und Ausnahmezustand Das Leben in Lwiw, Ukraine, geht weiter – trotz eines Krieges, der allgegenwärtig ist. Die Menschen arbeiten, treffen sich in Cafés, fahren mit überfüllten Straßenbahnen. Auf den ersten Blick wirkt alles fast normal. Doch unter dieser scheinbaren Normalität lauert eine andere Wirklichkeit: nächtliche Luftalarmsirenen, die den Schlaf zerreißen, ständige Sorgen um Angehörige, unausgesprochene Ängste. Und dennoch – oder gerade deshalb – klammern sich die Menschen an ihre Routinen. Denn Normalität ist nicht nur ein Wunsch, sondern ein Überlebensinstinkt. Das Fotoprojekt Bizarre Normality (2023–2025) fängt dieses fragile Gleichgewicht ein. Es dokumentiert Künstler und Kulturschaffende in Lwiw, zeigt sie in ihren Wohnungen und Ateliers, um eine zentrale Frage zu erkunden: Wie sieht  Normalität  mitten im Krieg aus? Ist sie überhaupt möglich? Gehen oder bleiben? Träumen oder kämpfen? Malen oder helfen? Die Menschen in Lwiw bewegen sich in einem Spannungsfeld aus Hoffnung und Ohnmacht, zwischen Lebensfreude und innerer Zerrissenheit. Eine Realität, die von Widersprüchen lebt – von Enthusiasmus und Angst, von Tatendrang und Schuldgefühlen. Und während das Leben weitergeht, holt der Krieg die Stadt täglich ein. Fast jeden Tag kehrt ein Bürger Lwiws zurück – nicht lebendig, sondern um auf einem der Friedhöfe der Stadt seine letzte Ruhe zu finden.

Walking along the corridors of the palace and admiring these artistic treasures, we can imagine the luxury and elegance of court life in those days.
