The Snail on the Wall bookstore is pleased to host Elise Burke Brown, an Alabama author with a new prize-winnning southern crime novel starring a savvy, sassy New Orleans detective you're sure to like. The event will be at The Snail on the Wall bookstore. About Elise Burke Brown:
Elise comes from a family of detectives, including a grandfather who filled her childhood with true crime stories. Her debut novel, Chase Harlem, has already won the 2023 Killer Nashville Claymore Award for best unpublished investigator manuscript. After winning, Rising Action Publishing acquired the novel and is re-launching it this June. Elise Burke Brown runs the book blog A Couple of B's and teaches composition at the University of Alabama. In this mystery set in the heart of New Orleans, ex-FBI agent Chase Harlem confronts crime, chaos, and dark secrets. All she wants is a simple life – morning jogs in cemeteries, jazz that soothes the soul, and enough cases to pay the bills.
