What an incredible and peaceful oasis right in the center of old Lagos! The friendly and accommodating staff made us feel so special and welcome during our 7-night stay. Situated within the old city wall, this fully restored estate is a true treasure. We opted for the new building, which houses the restaurant, lounge, store, and front desk. At the other end, near the main pool and beyond the large garden that provides goodies for the restaurant, lies the original estate house, beautifully restored. There's also a separate spa building where I indulged in a three-hour heavenly treatment. The attention to detail was outstanding, from our guest suite to everywhere else. Most of the furniture is locally crafted and beautifully designed. The bed was comfortable and the shower excellent. The freestanding bathtub was delightful! Breakfast was fantastic with farm-fresh eggs, homemade yogurt, healthy smoothies, and fresh garden fruit, seasonal permitting. The dinners there were equally gourmet. The staff gladly arranged a wine tasting, a boat tour, and my spa treatment. Located in a quiet residential neighborhood, yet just a five-minute walk to the heart of old Lagos, it truly offers the best of both worlds! My sole regret was that the pools were unheated and too cold to enjoy due to the season. I guess we'll just have to come back in the summer!
