DEMONSTRATION EVENT.
Chef Luis Lopez and Mixologist Jake Konrad from Proof Cocktails, are pairing up to offer you a unique menu of South American dishes, perfectly accompanied by refreshing crafted drinks! Enjoy 4 dishes + 3 cocktails though this event!
All dishes and drinks will be demonstrated or explained during the event and you will go home with printed recipes for food and drinks. Must be 19 + to attend. Please plan for a safe ride after event!
Menu tonight:
Smoky Guatemalan Chirmol & tortilla chips:
Chirmol is the Guatemala version of Chips and Salsa, using a roasted tomato base, less spicy than Mexican Salsa, using a very regional chile known as Cobanero
Cocktail #1: Pisqu
Pisco, Andean falernum (Lime, fig leaf, aji amarillo, nutmeg, ginger, black pepper syrup), acid, carbonation
Peruvian fish ceviche
Peruvian ceviche considered different from other countries due to its distinct and unique preparation that contains lime juice, raw fish, sweet potatoes and other foods. We will serve this one with plantain crisps.
Cocktail #2: Mangonada
Rum, green mango, alguashte salt (ground pumpkin seed seasoning), panela (unrefined cane sugar), lime, chile
Main Event: Learn to make Salvadoran Pupusas by hand
A pupusa is a thick handmade tortilla stuffed with ingredients: refried beans and chicharrón (fried pork), and served with curtido (lightly fermented cabbage relish) & salsa roja (red salsa).
Cocktail # 3: Carajillo
Espresso, Licor 43, whiskey, Cane Sugar
Dessert: Fried Plantains
Finish with sweet, golden Fried Plantains drizzled in dulce de leche & toasted pecans
$159+ gst per person. Please purchase one ticket per attendees.

You can register in person and over the phone directly with the store (604) 939-6200. Payment is required when you register - visa, MasterCard, gift certificates are accepted over the phone, cash and debit in person.
We have a 7 days cancelation policy for this event. If you need to cancel but have not given 7 days notice, no refund, transfer to another class or credit will be issued, but you can send somebody in your place.
Please inquire prior to booking if there are any food allergy concern. No substitions will be offered without prior warning.
