The Colt Creek Equestrian Poker Ride is a must-attend event for horse enthusiasts in Lakeland. Set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Colt Creek trails, this event promises a day filled with adventure and excitement. Participants are required to bring their own horses, ensuring a personalized experience tailored to each rider's needs.

Reservations are necessary for this event, and we kindly request that participants cancel their reservation in case they are unable to attend. Please note that there is a park entry fee of $3 for individuals or $4 per carload (up to 8 people). All horses must have a current Coggins and can be parked at the equestrian campground.

Upon arrival, participants are required to register near the equestrian pavilion to receive their instructions before mounting. Riders have the freedom to head out at their convenience, but it is important to begin the ride before 10am and return by noon.

The main highlight of the Colt Creek Equestrian Poker Ride is the 5.5-mile trail where riders will encounter 5 buckets hidden along the route, each containing a sealed envelope with a poker card inside. Participants are allowed to take one envelope from each bucket without opening them. The unopened envelopes must be brought back to registration, where a volunteer will evaluate the cards and score each participant's hand. It is crucial to note that any opened envelopes will result in disqualification.

The top 3 hands with the highest scores will be awarded cash prizes, and the results will be announced promptly at 12:15pm. To conclude the event, a delicious hot dog lunch will be available, and a small donation to defray expenses is kindly requested.
