Couch to 5km Ready to go from a couch potato to a 5km champion? Join us at Thornes Park Stadium for this awesome event! Lace up those sneakers and get ready to conquer your first 5km run. Whether you're a seasoned runner or a complete beginner, this event is perfect for everyone. Let's sweat, have fun, and reach that finish line together. See you there! Join us every Wednesday for a 9 week course involving 1 run per week with the group and additional runs supported by the NHS Couch to 5km app. You'll be in the safe, secure & well lit environment of the brand new running track. Free parking, use of changing rooms, toilet facilities & free drinks - tea/coffee/soft drinks after each meet. You'll also get the chance to meet up with runners from local running groups to help you stay motivated once the course is complete!

Travelled approx 10 miles to visit the park. Nice enough park to walk round and nice aviary and lakeside walk.
Unfortunately had to leave because of lack of toilet facilities. The only toilets were in the cafe and were closed to the public but open for take away food
at over inflated prices (&pound;4.50 for a toastie) couldn&#39;t afford anything else.
I&#39;m sure cafes etc use covid as an excuse to close toilets and save them the bother of cleaning them etc. I believe if the cafe is open the toilets should be open otherwise shut the cafe as well. My local park at Batley has a better value nicer cafe with excellent toilet facilities and is only take away. It&#39;s simply a cop out.
Will be going back to Batley in future.
