The Center for the Theater of the Oppressed (CTO), in collaboration with the University of Texas at Austin, is hosting the CTO Workshop: Creating a Forum Theater Play Series. This 3-day intensive workshop provides participants with the unique opportunity to create their own play using games and exercises from the Theater of the Oppressed and Teatro de las Oprimidas methodologies. The culmination of the workshop will be a live performance in front of the Austin community at the Closing Ceremony of the Theater of the Oppressed Symposium, taking place at the George Washington Carver Museum and Cultural Center. This workshop series is open to all and will be conducted in English. Participants are required to attend all three dates and times. The first workshop, "Creating a Forum Theater Play: Day 1," will be held on October 25th from 5:30-8:30pm at the Carver Museum. The second workshop, "Creating a Forum Theater Play: Day 2," will be held on October 26th from 5:30-8:30pm at a location to be determined. The final workshop, "Creating a Forum Theater Play: Rehearsal," will take place on October 28th from 2-4pm at the Carver Museum. The live performance, part of the Theater of the Oppressed Symposium Closing Ceremony, will be held on October 28th from 6pm-10pm at the Carver Museum. As an ordinary tourist, I thought the procedure to enter the Capitol Building was very complicated, but I didn&#39;t expect that I could enter and visit just by checking the bags I brought with me.
This building was built in 1885 and covers an area of ​​51 acres. It was designed by architect Elijah E Myer in imitation of the Capitol Building in Washington. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and was named a National Historic Landmark in 1986.
It is amazing that the passage of time has not affected its appearance and internal structure at all. It is as new as ever. Visitors can visit the government offices and have time to visit the exterior of the building to appreciate this century-old building from all angles.
