Diplomacy and Desire: Basoeki Abdullah in Singapore is an exhibition of artworks by Indonesian painter, Basoeki Abdullah (1915-1993) who is known for his paintings of stalwart statesmen and attractive women.
The highlights of the exhibition are two paintings that the artist gifted to Singapore. Diplomacy and Desire focuses on the artist’s relationship to Singapore and his time living in Singapore when it achieved self-government in 1959.
The exhibition considers the relationship between Basoeki as a high-society painter and his agency as a regional cultural producer who was keenly aware of the geopolitical value of his artworks.
The exhibition encourages audiences to see this prominent portraitist anew and reflect upon the ‘power’ of beauty and art in post-colonial Southeast Asia.

Both attractions were fantastic. The Cloud Forest was an incredible experience, especially with its temporary Jurassic World theme. The setting was truly amazing, with two sky bridges suspended within the dome. The air-conditioned environment was a welcome relief from the heat.Next, we visited the Flower Dome. It was brimming with vibrant flowers and trees from all over the world. The variety of colors was stunning, and I absolutely loved it.

I was so rushed I almost gave up on this trip, but I&#39;m so glad I did... This place is perfect for photo ops 🏛️💛
1️⃣ Side Hall Lobby: The checkered tile floor is perfect for photo ops. Just sitting there creates a photojournalistic feel. It&#39;s beautiful from the 2nd floor, whether you&#39;re taking a bird&#39;s-eye view or looking up from below.
2️⃣ 3rd Floor Corridor: Both close-up and distant views create a truly atmospheric atmosphere.
3️⃣ Skywalk: You can see it as you walk through the exhibition halls! The bird&#39;s-eye view of people moving around from the 4th floor creates a sense of storytelling. You can also take photos in the 4th floor corridor.

Asia&#39;s largest Ferris wheel 🎡 The kids were scared at first, but once they got on it, they said it felt just like being on flat ground, nothing special... The view overlooking Singapore&#39;s CBD, the Strait of Malacca, the Marina Bay Sands, and Gardens by the Bay is unobstructed! It&#39;s even more beautiful when you choose to go at sunset!

I went to Haji Lane twice, once in the evening and once at night, for the good food and shopping. There are delicious coconut club fried chicken rice, coconut shake drinks, bird of parasdis ice cream nearby, and a famous church with many graffiti on the walls.
