The 
Downtown Collaborative Initiative
 is a professionally coordinated marketing campaign designed to drive consumer traffic from the north end into the heart of downtown Nanaimo. Its core objective is to introduce new customers to local businesses by creating an inviting, intimate setting where community members can connect with business owners and experience firsthand the unique offerings of downtown shops and services.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
Shared Investment, Shared Success
 As part of the Downtown Collaborative Initiative, each participating boutique, business, restaurant and Lumisenz Production Corporation contributes to the efforts and small costs of supplies required in producing the event by providing in-kind provisions for the event. This shared investment supports a high-impact marketing campaign and professional video content that benefits all partners equally. Together, we are positioning ourselves as a united and dynamic retail force in downtown Nanaimo—maximizing visibility, encouraging foot traffic, and reigniting interest in exploring what our vibrant downtown has to offer. It’s our time to shine and show the community why downtown is worth the visit.
Personal Connections Build Business:
 Studies show consumers are more likely to support businesses they feel connected to. These events allow potential customers to meet business owners face-to-face and form meaningful relationships that foster loyalty.
Mid-week + 
Saturday Night Foot Traffic:
 Events are scheduled to end by 8:00 PM, creating a perfect launch point for guests to explore downtown’s dining, tapas bars, and live entertainment. By 8:30 PM, guests are encouraged to enjoy the vibrant atmosphere downtown has to offer.
Strong Social Media Presence:
 Each event is supported by a 21-day strategic media campaign across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, featuring both pre- and post-event video reels to maximize exposure and engagement.
Minimal Time, Maximum Value for Business Owners:
 The entire event is organized and managed by 
Lumisenz Production Corporation
, led by Dawn Wiggers. From planning to execution, Dawn handles all logistics, social media, and creative direction. Business owners only need to: Participate in a couple of creative meetings to ensure the event reflects you and your business. Offer a short time commitment on the night of the event.
By participating, businesses benefit from increased visibility, deeper community engagement, and new customer relationships—without disrupting their daily operations.

We will hold one event per month.
