In this class, we will explore different ways of sketching within the lush surroundings of the Wallace Collection. With expert guidance from experienced artist and tutor Natalie Arnold, you will learn how to apply perspective to sketches of furniture, experiment with mark-making to add textures to objects such as sculpture & ceramics, and develop an eye for composition using a variety of techniques. Participants will be encouraged to develop their style and explore different ways to bring their sketches to life, capturing the mood and improving observational drawing. At the end of the day, you will have enlivened your sketchbook with an array of quick sketches and slightly more detailed studies. We will use mainly pencil, pens, and touches of coloured pencil. No need to worry if you're new to drawing; this workshop welcomes all levels of experience, background, and skill sets.
