The Drawversity life drawing programme was conceived by 
Jade Hylton
 with the aim of introducing more BIPOC people to life modelling; you can find out more about Drawversity

. We will be drawing from an unclothed model who will be holding a range of poses from 2 - 45 mins long. We’ll have music playing during the session and a short, chatty tea break halfway through for hot drinks and biscuits. The session is open to all abilities & levels of experience and Jade will be on hand to offer any help you need; as this is a drop-in session, you can book ahead or arrive on the day and pay by card. 
What you need to bring 
 
You can turn up empty-handed but we encourage you to bring your own materials – some basic drawing materials will be available for free and paper can be purchased in the studio. Easels, padded & backed chairs, drawing boards and small tables are all provided on a first come-first served basis.  
Getting to the studio
 
Approach New England House from the New England Street side of the building and walk up to the locked blue double doors next to the sign for the ‘Building Manager’s Office’. Wait to be let in or call the number on the door for entry - the studio is on level 5, Unit 1 South, just knock and walk in. There is parking at London Road car park, Elder Place & Trafalgar St car parks; Brighton station is a 5 minute walk from the studio.

Safety & accessibility

 and we will do everything we can to make sure you can enjoy the classes here. The building has a wheelchair ramp at the North side of the New England Street entrance and lifts up to level 5 with gender-neutral toilets & accessible toilets on floors 4 & 6 accessed by lift.  
The studio itself has diffuse overhead panel lights for drawers with a spotlight directed at the model. Fixative spraying is not allowed in the studio and is done outside; oil paints are allowed in the studio and there is a small chance they may be used at this session - our air purifier and good ventilation help control fumes. We keep the studio a safe environment by providing: 
Monitored ventilation (aiming for <900ppm CO2) 
Air purification with HEPA filters 
Sick pay for our freelance life models 
If you have covid, flu or bad cold symptoms we ask you not to attend - you will receive a refund as well as our appreciation!

Had my first date here with my partner and we hadthe best time. An amazing aquarium with abeautiful atmosphere, lights and gorgeouscreatures! I love animals and fish and seeing themhere was wonderful. Staff were lovely and veryknowledgeable. The place was clean, easy tonavigate and extremely ambient and beautiful. We went on a Thursday afternoon so was pretty quiet!

One of the best piers in the South of England. There is lots to do with tons of seaside rides, fun arcade games and food. Highly recommend catching the sunset here and if you&rsquo;re lucky you might catch the starlings dancing at dusk, I didn&rsquo;t know they do this and it was the most spectacular striking and stunning natural phenomenon I had seen, it was mesmerising. Highest chances of seeing the starlings dance is between November-March, we visited in early March
