In this special event marking the conclusion of the Library’s exhibition Dunera: Stories of internment, hear from co-curators Louise Anemaat and Seumas Spark. Louise and Seumas will discuss the many years that this exhibition has been in the making, and the large collection the Library now holds of material about this significant but little-known chapter in Australian history, what the audience responses have been while the exhibition has been on show, including unearthing new discoveries, as well as their hopes for the next chapters in the story of the Dunera. Louise and Seumas’s conversation will be followed by a very special musical performance from Max-Peter Meyer’s Dunera Mass. Louise Anemaat has published and lectured widely on the Library’s collections. As Executive Director, Library Services, she has a lead role in the acquisition, processing, access and curation of the Library’s collections. She is the author of Natural Curiosity. Unseen art of the First Fleet (NewSouth Publishing, 2014), an analysis of the traditions of natural history art production in Australia and Britain during the 18th and 19th centuries. Louise is co-curator of the exhibition Dunera: Stories of internment. Seumas Spark is an historian with a particular interest in the Dunera internees. He is co-author of the two-volume history Dunera Lives (Monash University Publishing, 2018 and 2020), and co-editor (with Jacquie Houlden) of Shadowline: The Dunera Diaries of Uwe Radok (2022). With his colleague Kate Garrett, he runs the Dunera Stories website. Seumas is co-curator of the exhibition Dunera: Stories of internment. Just to experience the Grand Theatre, the internal structure and decoration are not particularly amazing... How to live? You have to take a ride when you come, but it&#39;s just an ordinary cable car. It&#39;s very steep but the speed is very slow, and you won&#39;t feel weightless. It is recommended to play this project first after you come. After going down, you can take a walk on the mountain trail. It will be very hard if you don&#39;t do it.

It was a very happy trip. I saw the place where the whales live. I was really happy. I will definitely go there again next time. It is worth it. Several friends said that they must come again next year.
