**This event is in French** À l’occasion de la réédition en « Folio classique » d’un roman de Delphine de Girardin (1804-1855), La Canne de M. de Balzac, originellement paru en 1836, Claudie Bernard, professeure à New York University et spécialiste de Balzac, s’entretiendra avec Martine Reid, professeure émérite à l’université de Lille et spécialiste des femmes auteurs. Elles dresseront le portrait d’une écrivaine étonnante, poète, dramaturge, romancière et journaliste, contemporaine de George Sand. Elles évoqueront Balzac, sa notoriété, son rapport aux écrivaines. Elles initieront le public à un roman singulier, drôle, et à la vision du Paris de 1830 qu’il propose. Cette promenade littéraire « genrée » permettra de revenir sur quelques points essentiels concernant les auteurs et auteures de l’époque romantique.
