Faye Heavyshield, recipient of the 2021 Gershon Iskowitz Prize at the AGO, has for more than three decades created powerful installations and sculptures, characterized by repeating forms and motifs, including spirals, circles, grids, and lines. Drawing from personal experience, her work reveals a deep relationship with the land, in particular the Kainai (Blood) Nation in Southern Alberta where she grew up and where she still lives.
For her first solo exhibition at the AGO, Heavyshield will present several works, including a re-staging of her acclaimed 1995–96 multimedia installation Venus as Torpedo. This large-scale installation, with audio in both Blackfoot and English, features assorted clothing items draped over a protruding arm that extends across the museum floor.
This exhibition is curated by Georgiana Uhlyarik, Fredrik S. Eaton Curator of Canadian Art, AGO, and organized by the Art Gallery of Ontario in partnership with the Gershon Iskowitz Foundation.

Niagara Falls is located on the border of the United States and Canada, on the Niagara River, and can be seen from both countries. If you look at the falls from the United States, the other side of the river is the bustling Canadian city of Toronto, with modern buildings such as high-rise buildings and towers. The south bank of the river in the United States is relatively more natural, without high-rise buildings. A Niagara State Park has been built around the falls. It is free and has green trees and carpeted lawns. There are bridges and trestle trails in the park. You can see the wide Niagara River and the rapid water flow. After arriving at the park, parking in the surrounding area is charged. It is recommended to park in the park&#39;s internal parking lot, which charges $10-15 and is closer to the viewing point. Go to the visitor center to get a free map or take a photo of the roadside sign. Because there is more than one waterfall, it is recommended to visit each waterfall viewing point. It is not too far to walk around, and different angles and altitudes have different beauty, all of which are very shocking. If you are not afraid of getting wet, you can go down to the bottom of the waterfall or take a cruise on the Niagara River to see it, where you can see the panoramic view and have an intimate contact with the waterfall.

The Art Gallery of Ontario is a very attractive museum designed by the architect Frank Gehry. Its appearance is like a crystal ship, with a strong sense of modern art. The glass wall and glass wings on the north side of the main entrance glow under the lights at night, creating a beautiful scenery. The spiral staircase in the museum fully demonstrates Gehry&#39;s design talent.
