Geneva's Old Town transforms into a giant open-air theater during the Climbing Festival. All day Saturday, December 13th, 2025, the cobblestone streets will be bustling with citizens dressed in 17th-century attire, as if time itself has truly crossed paths.
Sunday's historic parade is the festival's climax. A grand procession of 800 people starts from the Fortress Park, winding its way through the Old Town streets, finally converging at Place Saint-Pierre. With drums beating and torches flickering, the joy of victory from four hundred years ago is perfectly recreated.
The sweetest heart of the Climbing Festival is undoubtedly the chocolate pot, a symbol of courageous memories. In commemoration of Mère Royaume's pot of hot soup, a pot is crafted from chocolate, filled with macarons, vegetables, and sweets, and decorated with totem symbols and distinctive ribbons.
