Join us for a restorative and grounding experience in Burnaby’s Central Park, designed to reduce stress and anxiety through the gentle practices of mindfulness, nature-based mindfulness, and reflection in nature.
Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, scattered or just in need of a pause, this is your invitation to reconnect with yourself, release built-up stress, and experience clarity in nature.
We are honoured to bring the practices of Shinrin-yoku and forest therapy to Vancouver. The practices are supported by scientific research which indicates that forest bathing helps improve relaxation, focus, mood, and nervous system regulation.
Treat yourself to time in nature and deep relaxation with the support of local certified guides. This is a welcoming and inclusive space—open to everyone, with limited spots available (16 max) to ensure an intimate and supported experience.

Important notes
Participants should be in good enough physical health to walk and stand for the full time on forest trails
This event is weather dependent - in case of heavy rain (on the day of or the day before) we will reschedule. You will be notified via email
Please inform us of any allergies, especially to plants, pollen and animals, as the experience includes direct interaction with nature
Space is limited to keep the group intimate and immersive. Advance registration is required
Please leave your furry friends (dogs cats etc) and children at home for this event.

Jenn Shank
 is a certified life and executive coach and founder of Rooted Renewal Holistic Coaching. With a heart-led approach that blends personal growth, mindfulness and nature-based healing, she supports clients in aligning their lives and leadership with clarity, purpose and joy.
Nicole Yamanaka
 is a BCAK Practicing Kinesiologist and certified Forest Therapy guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. Her approach includes supporting the physical, mental and emotional health of her clients and participants. Nicole combines a lighthearted and playful perspective in her sessions, on a scientific foundation to allow participants the opportunity to get some solid grounding, or lift spirits and creativity, if that’s what the doctor orders!

Standing on the top of the park, you can see downtown Burnaby and the mountains in the distance, as well as downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park and the Lions Gate Bridge. The park is rich in vegetation, and you can smell the fresh air of the pine forest while walking along the forest trails. The park is famous for the Kamui Mintara sculptures created by Japanese sculptor Nuburi Toko and his son, which symbolize the harmonious unity of humans, animals, nature and God. The sculpture group consists of 29 hand-carved logs with animal images such as brown bears, owls, salmon and killer whales engraved on them.

Deer Lake Park

If you are looking for a good place to relax around Vancouver, Deer Lake Park in Burnaby is definitely worth a visit! It is like a paradise in the city, with beautiful lakes and mountains.
There is a flat wooden boardwalk around the lake, which is perfect for walking, jogging, or enjoying nature with children and pets. The lake is sparkling, seagulls and mallards are playing in the water, and snow-capped mountains are looming in the distance. The park is free, the lawn is suitable for picnics, and kayaks can be rented on the lake. In spring, flowers are in full bloom, rhododendrons are particularly romantic, and outdoor concerts in summer are even more lively. Especially in autumn, Deer Lake is even more beautiful, and it is a great place to enjoy maple leaves around Vancouver. Parking at Deer Lake is also very convenient, highly recommended!

Central Park

Central Park in Burnaby is a free public facility built for local residents. It has a small golf course, tennis courts, a children&#39;s play area, and several kilometers of trails. The park is densely populated with trees and there are many waterfowl around two small ponds. It is a great place for walking and jogging.
