LoCITY Driving is working a 3.5 hour DVSA approved course to stimulate the supply and uptake of low emission commercial vehicles and improve the infrastructure needed to operate these vehicles. This will make it easier for operators to invest in new technology. LoCITY also supports the introduction of new programmes and initiatives that aim to lower emissions and improve air quality.
Course Modules
LoCITY Driving ourse focuses on minimising the environmental impact of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) by reducing emissions through the use of fuel-efficient driving techniques, cleaner vehicles and alternative fuel technologies. Modules include:
· Reducing commercial vehicle emissions
· Using developing technology
· Considering type of vehicles
· Reviewing different types of fuels available
· Impact of commercial vehicles on the environment
The course equips drivers with knowledge of:
· How vehicle checks and maintenance can help reduce emissions
· Fuel-efficient driving techniques
· The benefits of journey planning
· How to use in-vehicle technology to improve driving performance

Staying Legal 3.5 hour DVSA Approved Course
At the end of the course drivers will understand the need to maintain compliance standards and how failure to do so could affect their licence and also the company's operators licence.
At the end of the course drivers of commercial vehicles will be aware of their responsibility to remain compliant when driving commercially on public roads.
