What to Expect:
The day will begin with registration from 10am, where you can settle in, enjoy some refreshments, and chat with others before the sessions begin. It’s a relaxed start with time to mingle and meet fellow attendees.
We’ll then hear from our inspiring keynote speaker, sharing their personal experience of stroke and what they’ve learned along the way.
Next, you’ll take part in your first interactive discussion session — chosen by you during registration — on topics ranging from fatigue and aphasia to returning to work, carers’ support, and more.
Afterwards, we’ll break for lunch (included in your ticket), giving everyone time to recharge, connect, and enjoy informal conversations with others who truly understand what life after stroke is like.
In the afternoon, you’ll join your second chosen discussion session, followed by a chance to explore the exhibition space, relax, or ask questions.
There will be refreshments available throughout the day, and our team will be on hand if you need any assistance. We’ll also have quiet spaces available for rest or downtime whenever you need it.

Meet our Keynote Speaker: Amy Callaghan
Amy Callaghan was elected as a Member of Parliament at 27 years old, having worked in the Scottish Parliament for two MSPs (one a serving Scottish Government Minister), in 2019. Amy went on to lead for her party as their front bench spokesperson for health, campaigning for fairer more equitable access to healthcare and standing firm against the causes of health inequality.
Amy survived melanoma as a teenager and a brain haemorrhage soon after being elected during the first covid lockdown, following this she successfully campaigned to make the House of Commons more accessible for MPs with disabilities and long term health conditions by introducing proxy voting. Amy returned to work with no support from medical professionals involved in her care and credits Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland tech-enriched rehab at the University of Strathclyde for getting her back to the House of Commons.

This is simply a dream castle. When I arrived, it was the April holiday, and there were almost no people on the road. Only the ancient buildings stood in the cold air, solemn and heavy, which made people feel awe.

We came here on a spontaneous visit one Sunday afternoon in January and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our wee boy loved seeing the &ldquo;old fashioned house&rdquo; and was so well looked after by all the staff, from the cash register to the flat and back out again.

We went round twice (with a shift change between visits!) and the insight into one story of no doubt thousands like it in Glasgow was fantastic. Plus our boy thoroughly enjoyed colouring in his wallie dug. A hidden gem that is well worth the wander through Garnethill.

This museum is a place where people have to punch in. I especially like the oil paintings in the museum. After seeing it, I feel a great enjoyment. The museum is also a favorite place for primary and secondary school students.

Glasgow Cathedral

It is said that it can be traced back to the famous William Conquest period. It was built to commemorate St. Diego. It took hundreds of years to build and has been around for nearly a thousand years. It is the oldest religious building in the entire Scottish region. It is also a must-see for tourists.

George Square

Peggy 

George Square is located in Glasgow city center and is very conveniently accessible by train or subway. On nice days, you can sunbathe and watch pigeons in the square. It is close to the famous shopping street, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, shoes and socks. There are also many restaurants and eateries to choose from. 
George Square is a must-see attraction. In addition to admiring the architecture of the square;during different festivals, such as Christmas, the square is built into a Christmas Market, becoming a dynamic and happy atmosphere.
