Then join this special talk and discussion with artist and activist Ellie Harrison to mark the 10th anniversary of Dark Days. Staged in February 2015, Dark Days was a participatory event for which Harrison invited 100 people to spend the night in GoMA’s great hall as part of a pop-up community. Ten years on, Harrison will discuss the ideas behind the Dark Days project alongside the many ways she has sought to evolve her practice in response to the climate emergency over the last decade. The aim is to offer hope to young people that change is possible if we work together. For more than a decade she has sought to evolve her practice in response to the climate emergency – creating participatory performance/events and investing time in community projects and campaigns. Her 2019 book The Glasgow Effect: A Tale of Class, Capitalism & Carbon Footprint tells the story of her controversial attempt to live a ‘low carbon lifestyle of the future’ by refusing to leave Glasgow or use any vehicles except her bike for a whole year. Dark Days was the outcome of Harrison’s year as Associate Artist at GoMA in 2014, to coincide with the gallery’s participation in her Early Warning Signs project.

This is simply a dream castle. When I arrived, it was the April holiday, and there were almost no people on the road. Only the ancient buildings stood in the cold air, solemn and heavy, which made people feel awe.

We came here on a spontaneous visit one Sunday afternoon in January and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our wee boy loved seeing the &ldquo;old fashioned house&rdquo; and was so well looked after by all the staff, from the cash register to the flat and back out again.

We went round twice (with a shift change between visits!) and the insight into one story of no doubt thousands like it in Glasgow was fantastic. Plus our boy thoroughly enjoyed colouring in his wallie dug. A hidden gem that is well worth the wander through Garnethill.

This museum is a place where people have to punch in. I especially like the oil paintings in the museum. After seeing it, I feel a great enjoyment. The museum is also a favorite place for primary and secondary school students.

Glasgow Cathedral

It is said that it can be traced back to the famous William Conquest period. It was built to commemorate St. Diego. It took hundreds of years to build and has been around for nearly a thousand years. It is the oldest religious building in the entire Scottish region. It is also a must-see for tourists.

George Square

George Square is located in Glasgow city center and is very conveniently accessible by train or subway. On nice days, you can sunbathe and watch pigeons in the square. It is close to the famous shopping street, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, shoes and socks. There are also many restaurants and eateries to choose from. 
George Square is a must-see attraction. In addition to admiring the architecture of the square;during different festivals, such as Christmas, the square is built into a Christmas Market, becoming a dynamic and happy atmosphere.
