Capped at 12 participants this 8 week Finding the Funny class we explore how to take true stories and turn them into hilarious improvised scenes. This gives students experience in the Armando format which is the core of Big Fork Theatre's flagship show, Cool Story Bro. Successful completion of Big Fork Theatre's Improv Foundations 4: Group Mind required to take this class. Special consideration may be made if you don't fit this criteria but you feel that you have the required training and skill please contact the Directors at training@bigforktheatre.com to discuss. Specific skills and topics covered: Game of the SceneComedic premise based improvisationUnpacking true stories to find a comedic premiseAdvanced long form techniquesHow to heighten and explore comedic premisesThis course meets for 8 sessionsthat are each 3 hours long. Improv is becoming increasingly desired when casting and can help performers adjust to any situation whether it be during an audition or in the rehearsal room. Improvisation is an excellent way to improve your communication skills and confidence when speaking in public. About Big Fork Theatre Big Fork Theatre is dedicated to long form improvisation in the Chicago and New York style, as made famous by Tina Fey, Amy Poheler and Mike Meyers. Big Fork primarily focuses on comedic improvisation.
