This is a chance to see In Performance: Fans of Theatre, Music and Dance, a beautiful exhibition showing at one of London’s hidden gems: The Fan Museum in Greenwich. The exhibition presents a wide range of fans which portray and are a part of the performing arts. The fans of theatre focus strongly on the popularity of Commedia dell’Arte, a 16th century Italian form of theatre, depicting a troupe of characters including Harlequin, Colombine and Pierrot. While the section on dance emphasizes the use of fans as accessories to dance around the globe, such as dance cards, provide instruction for dancers or simply souvenirs of dance forms. This exhibition aims to take its audience on a journey of discovery, blending a diverse assortment of objects into- it is hoped- a coherent and thought-provoking whole. After a short introduction with the exhibition's curator, you will have time to look at the exhibition in close detail and enjoy refreshments in the musems beautiful Orangery. The Fan Museum is the only organisation of its kind devoted entirely to the multifaceted history, culture and artistry of the fan. The Museum is small-scale, Independent, and accredited by Arts Council England. Situated within the World Heritage Site of Greenwich, London, a pair of beautifully restored Grade II* Listed early Georgian period townhouses accommodate the Museum and its collections.

Housed in two adjacent Grade II listed Georgian townhouses, the Greenwich Fan Museum opened in 1991 as the world&#39;s first and only museum dedicated to the conservation and display of fans. The museum, which is run by a charitable trust, owns over 4,000 fans but is only able to display a small portion of its collection through three changing exhibitions each year. The current exhibition is titled &#39;Man with a Carnation&#39;.

I love Greenwich, it&#39;s the most magical place! I visited with my partner and my parents and they were all blown away by the intricacy and beauty of the place. I can&#39;t wait to come back and I think it will become a regular stop for our weekend walks now! My dream is to get married here!

I remember as a kid it was first called The Millennium Dome. So many cool things were inside🇬🇧 it was like a work of art of waxworks. Now it&#39;s a stunning arena hosting many live events.The Thames, the Cable Car and loads of bars and restaurants surround the theatre. Definitely an attraction.
