The Intermediate Black and White Workshop is a comprehensive program designed to enhance the skills of individuals who already possess a basic understanding of darkroom techniques. This workshop focuses on advanced and archival methods, making it an ideal choice for photographers seeking to refine their abilities in the darkroom. Led by renowned instructor Ruth Kaplan, this workshop covers a range of topics including enlarger and tray processing, as well as the final wash and print flattening. Participants will gain valuable insights into the techniques and challenges associated with printing, allowing them to further develop their skills and produce high-quality prints. It is recommended that participants have some experience with darkroom processes, although completion of the Basic Black and White Workshop is not mandatory. This workshop provides an excellent opportunity for photographers to refresh their knowledge of archival and non-archival printing methods. Participants are required to bring their own fiber-based paper, up to 16” x 20” in size, although RC paper will be provided by the gallery. This workshop will be held at Gallery 44 in Toronto on March 30, 2024. The ticket price for this event ranges from $180 to $200.
