This qualification is designed for workers caring for children in the absence of their parents. This qualification indicates an individual can undertake the role of first aider in a position that has responsibility of caring for infants and children. It may also have been identified as necessary by a workplace risk assessment.
The qualification will benefit all who spend time in the early years environment and with pre-puberty children.

Planning for and dealing with first aid emergencies involving babies and children, including:
CPR
Shock
Anaphylactic shock
Bleeding
Choking
Seizures
This qualification is designed to provide essential paediatric life saving skills and paediatric incident management. Typical delivery methods are predominantly practical and the course is assessed by continual observation of candidate performance.
Cost
£80 per person for SWIFT member schools (includes lunch and awarding body fees) | £120 per person for non-member schools (includes lunch and awarding body fees)

If the place you are cancelling is for a ‘no additional charge’ event under the SWIFT Offer to Schools, you may withdraw, without penalty, provided a minimum notice of 24 hours before the start time of the event is given.
If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, for each date of a course for which there is no additional charge, then the following charges will apply per applicant: £25.00
Should a training course recruit insufficient numbers to make it viable, we reserve the right to cancel the course, without penalty, giving a minimum notice of 24 hours.
