Calligrapher Lanka invites you to embark on a journey into the art of Shodo/書道, the ancient Japanese way of writing. Join us at the Cloud Gallery in Amsterdam for a hands-on calligraphy workshop where you can learn the fundamentals of Japanese calligraphy and discover inner harmony through the meditative process. Under Lanka's guidance, you will delve into the basics of calligraphy, including brush and ink techniques, proper posture, and etiquette. By mastering the eight fundamental strokes of Japanese calligraphy, you will be able to create the character 永 with confidence.

This transformative workshop promises to leave you feeling relaxed, inspired, and equipped with the skills to incorporate Japanese calligraphy into your own artistic endeavors. Perhaps it will even inspire you to craft unique, self-made Christmas gifts or offer the workshop as a thoughtful present to a loved one. The workshop will be offered twice in December and two additional times in January. Please ensure you sign up no later than two days before the event to secure your spot. Please note that the content of the January workshops has been slightly modified to embrace the tradition of Kakizome. Tickets to the Van Gogh Museum have always been very popular, especially when the May Day holiday in China coincided with the long King&#39;s Day holiday in the Netherlands. I decisively booked tickets + audio guides on Ctrip half a month in advance. It was sunny all the time during this holiday, so beautiful! Walking and taking photos along the canal was so fun. When I arrived at the museum, I entered almost without queuing! I got the audio guide at the front desk, which has multiple languages, and I chose Chinese. I spent 3 hours to look at the exhibition carefully, and the cultural and creative products in the gift shop were also very attractive. A great value for money experience!
