By reevaluating the prevailing narratives surrounding trans precarity, Gill-Peterson will shed new light on the intersection of gender norms, state power, and capitalist crises. As the author of "Histories of the Transgender Child", Gill-Peterson has received recognition for her groundbreaking research that challenges the myth of transgender children as a recent phenomenon. This event is part of the collaborative OUTstanding speaker series, organized by the Center for the Study of Gender & Sexuality and the UChicago Alumni PRIDE network, and is free and open to the public.
