Located in Hokkaido's agricultural heartland, Asahikawa is renowned for its fresh produce, including asparagus, corn, and lavender. Its harvest markets offer a unique opportunity to sample local specialties and interact with vendors. 
The Kita no Megumi Tabe Marche (Kita no Megumi Tabe Marche) is a foodie event held in front of JR Asahikawa Station, showcasing local delicacies from Hokkaido and the neighboring northern Honshu region. Held every September, the event features many stalls showcasing specialties only available in autumn. This year's event was massive, spanning seven city blocks and featuring over 200 food stalls. Due to its size, a free shuttle bus departs from a bus stop near the train station and stops at six other nearby bus stops.
In addition to the food, there are also performances by bands, stand-up comedy, game competitions, and more. The event features at least three stages, and while all activities are conducted in Japanese, the event is highly entertaining. I went on the first day, and while it was crowded, there were plenty of places to rest and eat.

The place is highly recommended. From the entrance, they let us clean our shoes. Animals are well keep altho some looks lonely. Tickets are consider cheap compared to what we get to see.

Asahikawa Ramen Village

Asahikawa Ramen Village is a very popular place. It consists of eight ramen shops. The shops are selected and changed every year. The ramen brands here are also well-known locally. It is worth coming from Asahikawa Station to eat a bowl of ramen and go back. However, the transportation is not particularly convenient because there are not many buses. You have to choose a good time. There are not many places to visit near the Ramen Village. There is only a Uniqlo, which is okay.
