To get a feeling of serenity, I suggest early mornings or late evenings. It really is beautiful and the buzzing of the cicadas in summer make it feel like you&#39;re away from the city and in nature for a while. we even saw wild boar after dark.

I was originally planning to take the bus from Saga and then return, but I overheard other tourists taking the subway directly to Kameoka and only taking the return bus.
