We are excited to be joined by director Daisy-May Hudson for a special director's roundtable ahead of a special screening of their BFI and BBC Film-supported feature Lollipop. Tickets for the roundtable also include the screening of the film and subsequent Q&A with Daisy and Director of the BFI National Lottery Filmmaking Fund, Mia Bays.
Open to writers, directors and producers based in the Midlands, we will be welcoming Daisy to talk all things filmmaking, reflecting both on the experience of making her debut narrative feature Lollipop but also her most recent documentary Holloway, which won the Audience Award at the 2024 edition of BFI London Film Festival. This is your opportunity to ask questions to a director moving between documentary and fiction, while exploring important and connected themes.
Tickets are extremely limited and include access to the roundtable, as well as your cinema ticket for the screening.
If you already have a ticket to the screening or the fee is a barrier to attending, please contact us before booking your place at the roundtable.
We are also able to provide travel bursaries for filmmakers travelling to the event from within the Midlands, please contact us to arrange your travel/ bursary.

About Lollipop
When young mum Molly (Posy Sterling) is released from prison after serving four months, she assumes it will be a matter of hours before she can pick up her children from foster care. Instead, Molly finds herself in the mother of all catch-22s: she can’t get housing because she doesn’t have her kids living with her; but she can’t get them back without a roof over her head. When Molly reconnects with her childhood friend, and fellow single mother, Amina (Idil Ahmed), the two women join forces and take destiny into their own hands.
