A programme of new multichannel immersive compositions inspired by maritime heritage and the iconic Cutty Sark, once one of the fastest sailing ships in the world.
Drawing on rich archive resources and expert curatorial knowledge of the Royal Museums Greenwich, this concert will respond to themes of maritime heritage and its underlying drivers of innovation, human ingenuity, collaboration, ambition for global connection and perseverance.
Hosted alongside the 2025 international Architecture Media Politics and Society (AMPS) conference “
Heritages - Critical Questions Contemporary Practices
” the programme showcases the potential of sound to re-animate and re-contextualise heritage sites via multisensory experiences.

This event also features an inaugural lecture from Professor of Music and Sound Arts. Andrew Knight-Hill, “Journeys in Sound: Sonic Creativity and Exchange”

Prof. Andrew Knight-Hill 
is a composer and researcher creating works that explore the interface between music and sound practice. His works have been heard internationally in film festivals and contemporary music concerts. He recently composed music and sound design for the immersive theatrical event “Over Lunan”, which was awarded an 
Outstanding Cultural Event
 award as part of the 2022 
Thistle Awards for Scottish Tourism
 and published a book “
Art of Sound: Creativity in Film Sound and Electroacoustic Music
” (2024) exploring creative working practices in sound, through interviews and dialogues with leading professionals in film and design and electroacoustic music.
He is Professor in Music and Sound Arts at the University of Greenwich, leader of the SOUND/IMAGE Research Centre, co-director of the Loudspeaker Orchestra Concert Series, convenor of the annual SOUND/IMAGE conference and director of the Shared Hub for Immersive Future Technologies.

The church is a prominent representation of British Gothic architecture, towering spires, exquisite carvings and beautifully painted glass windows, each detail shows an unparalleled artistic charm. Walking into the church, as if through time and space, is the holy place of the crowning of the British royal family, witnessing countless important moments in history. It is also a resting place for many celebrities, and great figures such as Newton, Darwin, Dickens have slept here, making people respect their contributions. Walking around, you can feel the solemnity of religion and the deep historical and cultural heritage. The church&#39;s Henry VII chapel is exquisite, with a fan-shaped arched roof and densely carved decorations, like a fairy tale fairyland. Whether it is an architecture lover or a historical and cultural fan, Westminster Abbey is definitely worth a visit. The Buckingham Palace Changing of the Guard ceremony is a symbolic royal cultural event in London. You should occupy a favorable position in advance. At the appointed time, the guards, wearing red uniforms and bearskin hats, enter the venue to the sound of the military band &quot;God Save the King&quot;. The old and new guards take over their posts. The scene is very shocking. A large number of tourists gather outside the iron gate, vying to witness the changing of the guard ceremony of the royal guard.
