The Making Moves Dance Festival 2023 is a three-day event that showcases a diverse cultural lineup. For the past 14 years, this festival, presented by JCAL, has been a platform for promoting new, emerging, and underrepresented dance companies. Located at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center in Jamaica, NY, this festival brings together talented dancers and choreographers from various backgrounds.

On the first day of the festival, visitors can look forward to performances by Audrey Hubbard Madison from MoJazz Dance, Robert Rubama from Terre Dance Collective, Monali NandyMazumdar from Dance and Community Ensemble, Dominique M. Fontenot from The R.E.A.C.H. Collective, Guangmin Shen from Umami Playground Dance Company, Francesca Dominguez and Dancers, Austin Warren Coats, and Creative Outlet by Jamel Gaines.
